Answer to Prayer

We have had a share of problems getting into the RV lifestyle. One thing that surprises me is the number of people who are touring the country and living in RVs. We met many people on the trip out here and then every day we have met more RVers. Its fun to hear their stories about where they have been. Lots are on their way home from Arizona.

Our 5th wheel has presented us with challenges as we learn 'the ropes'. One such incident happened yesterday. On Wednesday our kitchen drained stopped working. It stopped abruptly. Didn't slow down gradually-just quit completely and wouldn't even drain slowly. We wracked our brains for answers but couldn't come up with a solution. It didn't act like there was a clog but that was the only thing we could think it might be.

So yesterday, when praying for our day, we asked for help with the drain. After breakfast, we headed out for Wal-Mart and got a plunger and a clog dissolver.

When we arrived back at the campground, there was a truck pulled up to our neighbor's RV. The truck said 'RV Medic'. It was a mobile RV repair service. Tom said, "Should I go over and talk to him?" There was no doubt in my mind that he should do that.

After finishing up the job next door, the repairman came over and within 5 minutes had diagnosed our problem and fixed it. We had a third water holding tank that we didn't know we had. It was for the kitchen sink only and it was full. The solution was to pull the handle and let it drain into our sewer pipe. He charged us $20. An answer to prayer and we're very thankful. We took our supplies back to Wal-Mart so it really didn't even cost us $20.

In the afternoon, we attended Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede. Dolly was there in video only. It was a wonderful dinner show and our favorite so far here in Branson.

The show was a 'competition' between the North and the South to settle the question of who was the best. So there was lots of audience participation. The horses and riders were the highlight of the show for us but also the great music and beautiful costumes in several musical production numbers. While the show was on, we were served a great meal but no eating utensils-everything was eaten with our fingers. The meal included bbq pork, roast chicken, potatoes, soup (the bowls had handles for drinking) corn on the cob, cheese biscuits, and apple turnovers. The finished the meal with a hot wet towel to clean up before leaving.

The North (our side) won the competition but the final number was a rousing patriotic number about the unity of our country. We loved the whole show and would love to take our grandchildren to it someday.

Unfortunately, they didn't allow photos to be taken and I followed the rules. But there were lots of people who didn't but I didn't get any pictures to share with you.
